The Hummingbird brand is a core asset and a symbol of our commitment to quality, performance, and the open-source community. This document provides clear guidelines for the use of the Hummingbird name, logo, and other brand assets, ensuring consistency and maintaining the integrity of our identity.

Name

The project's official name is "Hummingbird." This name should be used in all public-facing communications.

Logo & Symbol

The official Hummingbird logo is our most recognizable brand asset and a key indicator of authenticity. The logo may not be used in a way that implies an endorsement, partnership, or affiliation with your project or company without explicit written permission. The logo may not be used as the primary logo for your own product or service.

Color

Hummingbird’s official color palette is built for developers and designers alike—prioritizing accessibility, visual hierarchy, and performance. Each color is assigned a clear role, from defining our primary brand identity to improving contrast and legibility in the component library. Use these colors to maintain brand consistency and ensure a cohesive, user-friendly experience across the ecosystem.

Typography

Typography in Hummingbird is designed to balance aesthetics with functionality. Our goal is to reduce friction and enhance readability across every part of the Hummingbird ecosystem, from the website to the code within our documentation. Figtree from Google Fonts ensures scalable readability, lightweight performance, and a clean, modern look across interfaces and documentation. This consistency supports faster comprehension, reduces cognitive load, and maintains a developer-first, design-forward experience, aligning perfectly with our commitment to a sensible and accessible developer experience.

Fair use

We encourage the community to create content about Hummingbird. The use of our name and logo in articles, tutorials, and public discussions is permitted, provided it adheres to these guidelines and does not imply official endorsement.

Any use of the Hummingbird name or logo in a manner that could cause user confusion is not permitted.

This includes naming a product or service in a way that emphasizes the Hummingbird brand, such as “Hummingbird Themes,” “Hummingbird Pro,” or “Hummingbird Templates,” as well as in domain names like hummingbird-dashboard.com. Instead, your own brand name must be the clear and primary identity of your project.

Referencing Hummingbird as the underlying technology is highly encouraged. For instance, “Admin Dashboard built with Hummingbird” or “DesignKit - A UI Kit for Hummingbird” are both excellent examples of permitted use.
